The International climbers charity CAC Climbers Against Cancer has just made the first of many planned donations for 2014 to cancer research facilities worldwide at The Climbing Works International Festival (CWIF) in Sheffield.
The cheque for £10,000 was handed over to a representative of The Christie Hospital by founder John Ellison along with IFSC delegate Graeme Alderson and athlete Shauna Coxsey who are both trustees of the charity.
The Sheffield event was a fantastic success with competitors from Slovenia, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Russia and Belgium joining local British climbers set the standard for the coming bouldering season.
The donation follows on from last years contributions made from Climbers Against Cancer to the worlds leading research facilities in Australia, France and Canada and plans are currently being put in place for the next round of donations in Vail USA, Munich Germany, Inzai Japan and South Africa.
