Edward vs. Old Man Of Hoy!
Edward Mills (aged 8) raised £35,000 climbing the Old Man of Hoy!
Edward, aged 8, loved climbing. For as long as he could remember, his Mum, Bekki was living with Breast Cancer. This didn’t stopped Bekki encouraging Edward to develop his interest and skills in becoming an accomplished little climber. Bekki’s cancer spread to her liver and spine, and although she was in considerable pain, it did not prevent her from remaining behind Edward with love and support and being there to watch him climb…
Edward set himself the personal challenge of trying to climb the Old Man of Hoy on Orkney, and at the same time hope to raise money for Climbers Against Cancer.
Edward successfully climbed the Old Man on 8th June 2018. “Best of all for all of us was the fact that Bekki was able to share the experience with us by sailing past on the ferry”.
